How To Draw Pocahontas
Step 1:
In this first step of our guide on how to draw Pocahontas, we’ll start with the outlines of her head and hair. Next, use two shorter lines for the neck and long wavy lines for her hair falling from her head. We won’t be drawing any details on the face yet, but we’ll add a lot more details in the next steps of the guide, so let’s get started!
Step 2:
To continue this drawing of Pocahontas, we will add a lot more detail to her face, hair, and chest. Her face is drawn with a few simple lines and shapes, but even though they are simple, they give a rather expressive face. Angled lines for his eyes, add a few little dots for his nose. Finally, draw his smiling mouth using more curved lines. Moving down, we’ll draw some delicate shapes for the necklace she’s wearing, and then you can draw the top she’s wearing. This will also be drawn with curved lines, but some sharp-cut sections make it look rougher. Finally, draw her curvy shoulders, then add her wavy hair falling over her shoulder. Her hair will also have curved line details drawn inside the outlines, and then we can move on to step 3.
Step 3:
For this step of our guide on drawing Pocahontas, we will draw her arms with more of her outfit. Her arms will be at her sides to make her more relaxed, extending from the shoulders you started—the previous step. Then you can draw her slim waistline, which moves outward to form the bottom of her outfit. This outfit will be pointed at the base with a striped edge near the bottom.
Step 4:
This drawing of Pocahontas is already superb! All that’s left is to draw her legs and some final touches, and we’ll start doing that in this part. She’s not wearing shoes, so we’ll draw her legs and feet that extend under her outfit. For now, use a slightly curved line for his knee and the rest of his leg extending to the start of his foot. With that draw, we can move on to the final details in the next step of the guide!
Step 5:
You are now ready to complete the legs and other finishing touches in this step of our guide on drawing Pocahontas. The central aspect to be finished in this step will be the rest of her leg outlines. Use more curved lines for the back of the leg than you started in the previous step. Human legs have a specific muscle structure, so do your best to replicate the leg as it appears in our example. You can finish with his leg stretched back; you’re ready for the final step! What perfect frame from the movies could you draw as a background for Pocahontas?
Step 6:
You can finish with some color for the last step of your Pocahontas drawing! We’ve kept her colors accurate to her movie appearances in our reference image, so you can follow that image if you want to replicate her look from the movies. His clothes are made of animal skin, so they are colored a light beige. Then we used blue for her necklace, shades of brown for her complexion, and black for her hair. Will you use these colors for your design or choose unique choices? We can’t wait to see what you will do! Don’t forget you can.
